Brought my car in (in May 2020) for a broken/spinning bolt that I couldn't remove from my transmission (driveshaft flange), and then test drive the car, and report on that. I replaced the clutch because it broke and wouldn't engage or disengage. I got frustrated after not being able to get the bolt out and left the work instead of me. Needless to say, they called me within about 45 min of leaving saying they "just bolted it right in" and that it test drove fine. The "bolted it right in" part should have alarmed me because I asked them to REMOVE a bolt. Even if the feat wasn't possible without taking apart the transmission, they also told me my car drove fine (on a now verified broken driveshaft flange bolt). What else was verified however, directly after I drove my car home something was off again. Took it to another shop to have them check it and THE PRESSURE PLATE BOLTS WERE BACKED OUT. This was easily diagnosable as the clutch would let out far enough for the gears to disengage. DAMAGED my car. They told me I installed it well and that it wasn't a problem, but instead, I got poor service. And a false grin. Not using them again, and certainly wouldn't recommend.
Dylan, I'm so sorry this happened. I will investigate on Tuesday and get back to you. George Rode, we care deeply. Good afternoon Dylan, I found the invoice where you came in with your 2012 Volkswagen Jetta on May 20th, 2020. The invoice states ”Customer states he installed his own clutch but can’t get the passenger side axle installed” . I talked with the technician who did the work and they remembered it also. You supplied us with the parts and we installed your axle shaft and bolt. The technician then drove the vehicle and experienced no problems. If you’ve discovered 3 months later that the clutch pressure plate bolts came out I would take issue with whoever installed your clutch. I see the customer name on the invoice is someone named Chad and not you. Sorry you’re experiencing such difficulties with your vehicle. If we can be of assistance in the future please let us know.
